He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Joslin and Cecelia Joslin (Koch); his siblings, Dale and Eddie Joslin; and his brothers-in-law, Cecil Barlow, William Fink and Maynard Kellerman.

He is survived by: his significant other Janet Mindrup; his children, Jordan Joslin (Emily) of Normal, IL and Jodi Hoffman (Greg) of Athens, IL; his grandchildren, Max Hoffman, Owen Joslin, Ava Joslin, Logan Hoffman and Eli Joslin; his siblings, Virginia Barlow of Spencer, IA, Marvallee Fink of Sidney, MT and Lyle Joslin (Sharalynn) of Blair, NE; and his sister-in-law Linda Joslin. He is also survived by his family grew he became "grandpa" to his grandkids and friend to his kids.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Eastview Christian Church.

“I was so saddened to hear of Jim's sudden death. Lately, I had enjoyed his funny quips on facebook. He and I were more than cousins, we were classmates in country school and both of us attended Dana College. I always loved his sense of humor.
