It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Gerald L. Purkey in Bloomington, Illinois, born in Fairbury, Illinois, who passed away on August 15, 2022, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Alfred Purkey and Alice Purkey; his siblings, Neil, Paul, Jenny, Lois, Ruth and Richard; and his wife Stephanie Bailey of Bloomington.
When he could no longer join her due to COVID, he would phone the nursing home where they would put the phone to her ear and he would sing to her.
