In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact David August had on those he encountered along his journey. Though David August may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, his essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph H. Toland and Lucile Toland (Seaholm). He is survived by: his wife Betty (Elizabeth Ann); his daughters, Susan Sopek (Rich) and Brenda Sullivan (Dan); and his grandchildren, Michael, Kelly Sopek, Lexi and Davis Hartweg.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 24th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Second Presbyterian Church (404 N Prairie St, Bloomington, IL 61701). A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 24th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at the same location.

Memorials may be made to Second Presbyterian Church, Parkinson's Speak Loud, or Midwest Food Bank.
