With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Charles E. Whelton of Bloomington, Illinois, born in Springfield, Illinois, who passed away on June 23, 2022 at the age of 79. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James E. Whelton and Mildred Irene Butler Whelton. He is survived by: his children, Charles James "CJ" Whelton (Heather Neeld) of Hendersonville, NC, Aaron Whelton (Rashmi Vasavada) of Portland, OR and Erica Horton (Adam) of Portland, OR; his grandchildren, Emmet Whelton, Bela Whelton and Henry "Hank" Horton; and his sister Mary Elizabeth Whelton Kirschman.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. John's Lutheran Church or Carle Cancer Center.
