He was predeceased by: his parents, Emery Shoemate and Rose Sly Shoemate; and his half-siblings, James McPeak, Kenny McPeak, Donna Owsley and Myrna Kaegi.
He is survived by: his half-sister Dorothy Wisslead. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
