He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Carl August and Florence Charlotte Freedlund (Case); his sisters, June Freedlund Schumacher of Charlotte, NC and JoAnn Freedlund Burchett; his children, Alan Freedlund (Charlene Johnson) of Naperville, IL., Sarah Jo Anne Clemons (Mark) of Sharpsburg, GA. and Jane Laury Wagner (John) of Champaign, IL.; and his grandchildren, Samuel Charles Freedlund (Sarah Marshall), Lauryn Grace Freedlund, Joseph Carl Freedlund, Lucas Robert Freedlund, Shelby Jane Clemons, Peter Alan Wagner, Judson Freedlund Wagner, Katherine Laury Wagner and Case Lorene Wagner. He was also cherished by his wife, children and grandchildren.
