He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Claypool and Vida Claypool; his brother David Claypool of Nashville, TN; his daughter Brenda Smith; his granddaughter Brittany Smith; and his great grandchild Kyler Tull.
He is survived by: his sons, Barry Claypool (Diane) of Bismarck and Byron Claypool (Vickie) of Bismarck; his son-in-law Brad Smith of Danville; and his grandchildren, Nicole McFarland, Sam Claypool (Chelsey), Joe Claypool, Kristin Stupples (Karl), Tom Tull, Amanda Tull and Bethany Wrensch (Zach). He is also survived by several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Norman's memory to a charity of the donor's choice.
