It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Edward Smith of Biggsville, Illinois, who passed away on December 3, 2023, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Loren J. Smith and Mona F. Smith; his wife Vallie Smith; his sisters, Katheryn Adair and Rosie Bushong; and his sons, Alan Smith of Stan's Little League and Stanley Smith.
He is survived by: his children, Brenda J. "Smith" Jones (Keith) of Hoschton, Georgia, Lyle J. Smith (Carol) of Hedrick and Teresa M. "Smith" Echols (Kelvin) of Christmas; his siblings, Laura Marie Renwick of Albia, Margaret Patton of Biggsville and Robert Smith (Betty) of Stronghurst, Illinois.; his grandchildren, Josh Meyer, Heather D. "Smith" Fuchs (Josh), Christian M. "Smith" Walker, Max J. Echols (Reiven), Grace C. Echols and Stella R. Echols; his great grandchildren, Jordyn Walker, Ethan Meyer, Isabell Smith, Johanna Meyer, Megyn Walker, Lilly Fuchs, Piper Fuchs and Samuel Smith; and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Dane Fuchs and Grace Fuchs. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
