It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Phillip M. Banning of Bethany, Illinois, born in Effingham, Illinois, who passed away on September 26, 2021, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Hanley Banning and Margaret Banning (Phillips). He is survived by: his wife Gayle M. Hielscher of Bethany; his brothers, Fox, Shawnee Hounds and Bass; his daughters, Jamie Garrett (Eric) of Owaneco and Jodi Walther (Billy) of Oakley; his grandchildren, Brody, Ethan Garrett, Darby and Saige Walther; and his brothers, Randy Banning (Christy) of Cowden and Rick Banning (Leslie) of Sheldon.
No visitation will be held due to Covid-19. The family requests casual attire and to wear face masks and please practice social distancing for the graveside service.
In lieu of flowers; memorials may be made to the Tri-County Shrine Club, Boy Scout Troop 132 in Taylorville or to the St. Louis Children's Hospital.
