He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Lenz and Maria Lenz (Oge); and his wife Virginia Ann Pare. He is survived by: his son Darryl Lenz of Alton, IL; his sisters, Margaret Shafer of Monmouth, IL and Jane Stewart of Belleville, IL; and his siblings-in-law, Ellie Lewis of Nixa, MO and Elwyn Pare (Lorene) of Granite City, IL. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Bethalto United Methodist Cemetery.
