With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Edward Miller Black Jr. of Bethalto, Illinois, who passed away on January 25, 2025 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Miller and Nellie Bly Black, Sr. (Hamilton); and his sister Mary Lou Paris (Fred). He is survived by: his wife Patricia L. Cope; his daughters, Kathi Hawkins (Doug) of Campbellsville, KY, Jennifer Semore (Glenn) of Wentzville, MO, Becky Pace (Steve) of Jerseyville, IL, Debbie Sandhe of St. Peters, MO and Lisa Thomas (Marga) of Carbondale, IL.; his grandchildren, Paul Semore (Chloe), Heather Semore (Garrett Mooney), Troy Black Pace (Brooke), Alyssa Sarosy (Steven), T. J. Pace, Renae Pace, Richard Swink (Leasia) and Ajay Sandhe; and his great grandchildren, Carina, Vivian, Oliver Semore, Shiloh Pace, Emmett, Elliett Sarosy, Veronica and Evander Swink.
Visitation was held on Monday, February 3rd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Christway Church (1200 Airport Rd, Godfrey, IL 62035). A funeral service was held on Monday, February 3rd 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location.
