With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Alva William McDonald of Bethalto, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 14, 2025 at the age of 95. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Alva William McDonald to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank McDonald and Hazel McDonald (Huckstep); his wife Bessie "Bess" Mae Nash; his son Al Jr.; and his siblings, Otis and Doris Lee.
He is survived by: his children, Rick McDonald of Imperial, MO, David (Karen McDonald) and Robin (Kurt Dubler); his half-sisters, Jean Poulos and Ruth Harris; his grandchildren, Ricky (Beth McDonald), David C. McDonald, Breanna McDonald, Brooke Dubler and Miranda (Ben Land); and his great grandchildren, Mary Beth McDonald, Oliver McDonald and Emberleigh Flentge. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home (727 E Bethalto Blvd, Bethalto, IL 62010). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 11:45 AM at the Rose Lawn Memory Gardens (10 Erwin Plegge Blvd, Bethalto, IL 62010).
