He was predeceased by: his parents, Everett Smith and Lucille Smith (Irby); his brothers, Charles Smith and Carl Smith; and his sister-in-law Karen Smith.

He is survived by: his brothers, Robert Smith of Desloge, MO and Rev. John Smith (Sherry) of Springfield, MO. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
