It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Robert Joe Dunbar of Benton, Illinois, born in Ewing, Illinois, who passed away on December 27, 2023, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Luckey Dunbar and Sarah Eleanor Dunbar (Hughey); his wife Nancy; his sons, Robert and Joe; his siblings, Muriel Brown, Modest Hamilton, Wanda Stirneman, Molean Carbonell, Elenora Underwood and Archie; and his son-in-law Jim Wilkins.
He is survived by: his stepchildren, Brenda Wilkins and Paul Stanhouse (Toni); his brother-in-law Ben Wright; and his grandchildren, Angie Crisel (Mike), Callie Carter (Jake), Luke Stanhouse (Kayla) and Jon Stanhouse (Logan). He is also survived by several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
