It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Josie W. McGee (Benton, Illinois), who passed away on December 13, 2019, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Rev. Owen and Zella Whitfield (Glass); and her siblings, Owen Whitfield, Thomas Whitfield, James Whitfield, Barbara Fleming, Cora Terry, Lewis Whitfield and Beryl Meyers.

She is survived by: her children, Michelle Peters (Chuck Evans) of St. Louis, Tamara Pryor of Benton, David Peters of DuQuoin, Kelly Peters of DuQuoin and Judith Helen Peters of Benton; and her siblings, Elma Hatchet, Joel of Jackson, MO, Shirley Farmer, Clay of St. Louis, MO, Ozella "Mickie" Henson of St. Louis, MO and Gerald Whitfield of Du Quoin. She is also survived by great grandchildren.
