He was predeceased by: his parents, A. Harvey Carl and Mary Carl (Tipton); his wife Patricia Battello; his daughter Mary Jobst; his brother William Carl; and his daughter-in-law Dru Carl.
He is survived by: his children, James D. Carl of Pleasant Prairie, WI, Jennifer Roath (Larry) of Tucson, AZ, Raymond L. Carl of Streamwood, IL and Theodore "Ted" Jenkins (Lisa) of Ottawa, IL; his grandchildren, Sarah Jobst (Bernard Kondenar) of Benton, IL and Sonti Carl of Tennessee; his stepgrandchildren, Julia Taylor (Adam) of Midland City, AL, Justin Jobst (Susan) of Roscoe, IL and Jessie Fiscal (Jose) of Kenosha, WI; his son-in-law Kurt Jobst of Cherry Valley, IL; and his sister-in-law Carol Carl of Russellville, TN.. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson.
