He is survived by: his wife Rebecca Blades (Wolf); his children, John Bradley Blades (Paula), Timothy Blades (Misty), Brian Blades (Sarah) and Amanda Burton (Josh Stockinger); his grandchildren, Brittni Blades, Kaitlin Rubenacker, Logan Blades, Emily Braden, Alison Blades, Breanna Blades, Kaden Blades, Alexa Blades and Korie Blades; and his great grandchildren, Chloe James, Corbin Peterson, Leland Paul Rubenacker, Blakely Rubenacker, Otto Rubenacker, Paisley Blades, Landon Blades and Charles Axel Race Blades.
Visitation was held on Thursday, April 10th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the St. Joseph Catholic Church (506 W Main St, Benton, IL 62812). A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, April 10th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, April 10th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Cemetery (7598 Piopolis Rd, McLeansboro, IL 62859).
The family prefers in lieu of flowers, donations in his honor may be made to St. Jude – Children's Research Hospital.
