We are sad to announce that on March 7, 2025, at the age of 89, Betty Christensen of Benton, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, James Marion Harris and Olive Pearl Harris (Richardson); her husband Earl Robert Christensen; and her brothers, James Oliver Harris and Lloyd Dale Harris.
She is survived by: her children, Robin Freed (Mike) of Thompsonville, IL, Dale Robert Christensen (Teresa) of North Charleston, SC and Daniel James Christensen (Diane) of Saratoga Springs, NY; her grandchildren, Virginia Pearl Christensen, Dale Robert Christensen, Jr., John Christensen, James Christensen (Liz), Danielle Christensen (Craig) and Nicholas Michael Freed (Stacey); her great grandchildren, Celes Domings and Troy Christensen; her pet Olivia; and her extended family, Bobby Freed, Mollie, Melissa Freed, Gabby and Zac.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, March 11th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Leffler Funeral Home (401 E Main St, Benton, IL 62812). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, March 11th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, March 11th 2025 at 2:00 PM.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Franklin County Animal Control Shelter and will be accepted at the funeral home.
