It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Amos Mitchell (Benton, Illinois), born in Zeigler, Illinois, who passed away on August 2, 2019, at the age of 100, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Omar and Nella Pulliam Mitchell; his siblings, Lowell Mitchell (Jennie), Charles Mitchell, Cecil Mitchell, Neva Furlow, Clorine Straub (Melville), Wilma Uttley (Tom) and Agnus Mitchell; and his wife Rosemary White Mitchell (Methodist Minister R. A. Lippman).
He is survived by: his sons, Ned Mitchell of Sesser and Randy Lowell Mitchell (Renee) of Collinsville; his grandchildren, Justin Jon Mitchell (Brittany), Jonna June L Rolla, Carrigan Aleta Mitcherll, Ty Matthew Mitchell and Alexa Marie Mitchell; his great grandchildren, Johnel Maria Eubanks (Johnny Vercellino), John Charles Eubanks, Jr (Sierra), Christian Mitchell Rolla, Cobin Dane Rolla, Kingston Lane, Kaylor Belle Lane, Kambria Noelle Mitchell and Kennasyn Joelle Mitchell; and his great great grandchild Violet Sky Eubanks. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice or the Sesser First United Methodist Church.
