It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Doris Jean Tipler of Benson, Illinois, who passed away on January 20, 2022, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Doris Jean Tipler to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Elmer Gerjets and Elsie Mennen Gerjets; her son-in-law Bud Long; and her siblings, Roger, Duane Gerjets and Shirley Wolf.
She is survived by: her daughters, Lisa Pieper (Jeff) of Bloomington, IL and Lori Long (Rob) of Normal, IL; her grandchildren, Todd Pieper and Sara McCullough (Dean); her great grandchildren, Maxwell and Claire McCullough; and her sister Joyce Trantina of Benson.
Due to COVID-19, private memorial services will be held at 11 am on Saturday January 29, 2022, at Knapp-Johnson-Harris Funeral Home in Roanoke.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to St. Peter Lutheran Church or the American Cancer Society.
