She was predeceased by: her parents, James Pickerill and Mary Eileen Floyd Pickerill; her former husband Wesley C. Cherry; her husband Bruce J. Scopel; her sons, Don Cherry and Jon Cherry; and her siblings, James Pickerill, Kenneth Pickerill, Dale Pickerill, Larry Pickerill and Loralee Sciranko.

She is survived by: her children, Bill Cherry (Florence) of Gillespie, IL and Melanie Quarton (Mark) of Palmyra, IL; her daughters-in-law, Marjorie Cherry of Gillespie, IL and Christie Cherry of Benld, IL; her grandchildren, Katrina, Nicholas, Andy, Joshua, Sean, Trent, Adam, Kendra and Brett; her siblings, William Pickerill (Rose) of Worden, IL, Betty Filipovich of Boise, Geraldine Bayse of Benld, IL, Connie Provost of Staunton, IL and Anita Darneal of Staunton; and her siblings-in-law, Cheryl Smith (James) of Staunton, IL and Andrew Cherry (Rose) of Pleasant Plains, IL.. She is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren.
