He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Root and Louis Root (Moenster); his sister Jane; and his brother-in-law Bob Hagen. He is survived by: his sons, Richard W. Root of Florissant, Ronald (Diana Root), Randon (Elizabeth Root) and Rhyan Root of Benld, IL.; his grandchildren, Brandon, Gregory and Josephine Root; his sister Betty Root; his nephew Christopher Root; and his niece Heather Bell.
