He was predeceased by: his parents, William Grover and Flossie Victoria Porter (Lamb). He is survived by: his wife Carol Porter of Monticello; his sons, Steve Porter (Vickie) of McLean and Scott Porter (Jaime) of Monticello; his grandchildren, Hannah Porter and Clare Porter; his stepgranddaughters, Allison Gilbertson (Matthew), Rachel Bunyard (Andrew) and Amanda Wiser (Timothy); and his sister Wilma Gay of Springfield.

Memorials may be made to the Piatt County Nursing Home or the First Presbyterian Church of Bement.
