He was predeceased by: his parents, Reinhold Baerwald and Elfrieda Baerwald; and his siblings, Howard and Isabel. He is survived by: his children, Thomas Baerwald, Kris Hall (Tim), Sarah Layman (Paul) and Jennifer Bentsen (Kurt); his grandchildren, Abagail, Sarah, Elizabeth, Alexander, Madeline and Zachary; and his sister Marlene Dondelinger (Robert). He is also survived by 5 nieces, and 5 nephews.
