He is survived by : his children, Jody Ortgiesen (John), James Brei (Karen) and David Brei; his grandchildren, Jake Ortgiesen (Jessica) and Jackie Rabe (Jason); his great grandchildren, Avery and Raelyn Ortgiesen; his sister Debra Story; his sister-in-law Joyce Hinds (Dave); his niece Anne Beam (Todd); his friend Shirley McKenzie; and his pet Peanut.

Visitation was held on Saturday, June 22nd 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Belvidere Funeral Home & Cremation Service (203 Logan Ave, Belvidere, IL 61008). A funeral service was held on Saturday, June 22nd 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
