He was predeceased by: his parents, Julius Kordash and Constance Kordash (Stockus); his wife Sheila Johnson; his parents-in-law, Maurice and Verna Johnson; and his brothers-in-law, Neil Johnson and Reg Swenson.
He is survived by: his children, Sarah Anderson (Brent) of Naperville, Laura Honda (Brian) of Chicago and Andrew Kordash (Melissa Kent) of Rockford; his grandchildren, Jenna, Grace, Garrett Anderson, Luke, Dexter Honda and Gavin Kent; his brother Joe Kordash (Valerie) of Rockford; his in-laws, Barb Johnson, Carol Swenson, Connie Gustafson (Dale), Keith Johnson (Darlene), Marty Johnson (Sharon) and Sonia Pofelski (John); and his close friend Deb. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins.
Visitation was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory - Mulford (1860 S Mulford Rd, Rockford, IL 61108). A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. James Catholic Church (402 Church St, Belvidere, IL 61008). A burial was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 from 12:15 PM to 1:15 PM at the St. James Catholic Cemetery (402 Church St, Belvidere, IL 61008).
Memorials may be made in Gary's name to St. James Catholic Church or to the Rockford Rescue Mission, 715 W. State St. Rockford, IL 61102.
