He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Schmidt and Florence Schmidt (Dapke). He is survived by: his wife Joyce Voegtle; his sons, Leif Jernstad (Karen) and Eric Jernstad (Heather); his grandchildren, Derrick Jernstad, Amanda Jernstad and Logan Jernstad; and his sister Joyce Anderson (Ron).
