Eileen Elizabeth Wilkes, 91, of Belvidere IL, passed away January 30, 2023 with family by her side. She was born on March 6, 1931, in Harvard, IL to Lester and Helen Blackledge. She married the love of her life, Bill Wilkes, April 3, 1952. Together they shared 4 children and 56 years in marriage. Eileen was a dedicated mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She worked for many years in records in the McHenry County Courthouse. Eileen was a woman of strong faith and was a long-time member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Belvidere. She volunteered her gardening talents and fellowship assistance there. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, gardening, and spending quality time with those she loved. She loved holidays, especially Christmas when everyone was there. She will be missed by many.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Kim (David) Schirmer, Ann (Chris) Ryan; grandchildren, David W. Schirmer, Eric Schirmer, Ely Ryan, Tara Ryan, Brenna Ryan, Rachael Stokes, Brittany Stokes; great-grandchildren, Jersie, Ava, Alec, Ian, Evan, Lynn, Eve, and Jacob. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members whom she loved dearly.

She is welcomed into heaven by her husband, Bill Wilkes; daughters, Jan Wilkes and Pam Wilkes; and grandson, Billy Stokes.

A funeral service will be Monday, February 6, at 11am at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Belvidere. Located at 1045 Belvidere Rd, Belvidere, IL 61008. A visitation will take place at 10am until the time of service.

Burial at Mount Auburn Cemetery in Harvard, IL.
