He is survived by: his wife Ruth; his children, Jo Ann Christiansen (Jonathan) and Dean Axmark (Pamela); his grandchildren, Emilee Ann Christiansen and Kameron Christiansen; and his sisters, Mary Jane Heitman (Perry), Margret Ann Meyer (Arlin) and Carmen Holmgren (David). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
