She was predeceased by: her parents, Thelma Hoelzel (Hove) and Marvin Hoelzel; and her stepmother Lorraine Hoelzel. She is survived by: her husband Doug Carlson; her brother Dennis Hoelzel (Penny); her nephew Blake Hoelzel (Kirstin); and her great-nephews, Maddox and Peyton.
She crocheted and donated countless lapghans to veterans locally and nationally.
