It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Bernetta Koenig of Belvidere, Illinois, born in Marshfield, Wisconsin, who passed away on September 15, 2023, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Michael Stangl and Marie Stangl (Stauss); her husband Ervin A. Koenig; and her sisters, Virgie Schonfeldt (Melvin) and Jackie Young.

She is survived by: her children, Patrick Koenig, Kipp Koenig (Jeanine) and Kathleen Plager; her grandchildren, Todd, Jennifer, Nathan Plager, Scott, Sean, Michael and Joseph Koenig; her great grandchildren, Trinity Lynn, Kairo, Roxanna and Grace; and her siblings, Gene Stangl, Robert Stangl (Sharon), Darlene Adler (Wendelyn), Judy Casperson and Pattie Carl.

In lieu of flowers Masses are preferred.
