He was loved and cherished by many people including: his children, Dr. Anthony Gioia (Leilani Vanta) and Lori D'Anza (John); his grandchildren, Brianna, Ellie Gioia and Gina D'Anza; his parents, Anthony Gioia and Antoinette Gioia of Bellwood; and his siblings, Ken Gioia (Heidi) and Janice Dalesandro (Tom).
