He was predeceased by: his parents, William Joseph (Angela Margaret) and Mayer. He is survived by: his wife Linda Mayer; his stepdaughters, Susan Zareh (Eric) and Karen Thoma (Scott); his grandchildren, Elizabeth, William Zareh, Samuel, Lillian and Benjamin Thoma; and his brother-in-law Donald E. Weihl (Carol).
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 26th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Renner Funeral Home - Belleville (120 N Illinois St, Belleville, IL 62220). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 26th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the George Renner & Sons Funeral Home (120 N Illinois St, Belleville, IL 62220).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the William J. Mayer Engineering Scholarship at the University of Illinois Foundation Champaign, IL, 303 Saint Marys Road, Champaign, IL 61820.
