He was predeceased by: his parent Lawerence (Cecelia); his niece Christina Kania; his nephew Brian Baswell; and his brothers-in-law, Rowan Cadaret and Stephen Ellison.

He is survived by: his sons, Andrew Kania of Windfield, MO and Caleb Kania of Swansea, IL; his wife Gloria Kania; his grandchildren, Steven Valentine of Hilo Bay, HI, Robert of Winfield, MO and Cheyenne of Winfield, MO; his siblings, Mary Ann Cadaret, Sandra Ellison and Thomas Kania (Jeannie); and his friends, Butch Hunter and Richard Valentine.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 22nd 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Peter's Cathedral Catholic Church (200 W Harrison St, Belleville, IL 62220). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, March 22nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Research Hospital, Minds Eye, Knights of Columbus Post 1221, or to St. Peter Cathedral Catholic Church.
