He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Heffernan and Louise Heffernan (Grogan); his sister Patricia St. Clair; his nephew Daniel P. Heffernan; and his brothers-in-law, Duane A. Loepker and Dale Loepker.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Heffernan of St. Louis; his children, Jasmin Monroe of St. Louis, MO, John Heffernan, Jr. (Amber) of Jonesboro, AR, Conor Heffernan of Edwardsville, IL and Trey Heffernan (Haley) of St. Louis, MO.; his grandchildren, Chayse Monroe, Kinley, Evelyn Heffernan, Elias and Liana Heffernan; his brothers, Michael Heffernan (Diane) of Millstadt, IL, Tom Heffernan (Kathy) of Williamsburg, WV and Mark Heffernan (Bonnie) of Freeburg, IL; and his pet Mellie. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
