With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Eddie Lee Gilbert (Belleville, Illinois), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 21, 2025 at the age of 77. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Eddie Lee Gilbert to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Charley Gilbert and Mary Belle Gilbert (Pitcock); his siblings, Clara Franks (Robert) and John "Sam" Gilbert; his parents-in-law, John and Rosemary Giacalone; and his sister-in-law Dorothea Hamer.
He is survived by: his wife Sara Gilbert; his children, Kim Carr and John Gilbert (Paula); his grandchildren, Benny and Addy; his brother Charles Gilbert (Karen); and his brothers-in-law, Nick Giacalone (Peggy) and Anthony "AJ" Giacalone (Terri). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family and close friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 at 9:00 AM at the St. Augustine's Catholic Church (1910 W Belle St, Belleville, IL 62226). A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
