She was predeceased by: her husband Fred Hoekstra; and her parents, Nicholas Kalker and Bessie Van Kalker. She is survived by: her children, Diane Vlietstra (Bill) and Fred Hoekstra (Jan); her grandchildren, Kristin Schmidt (Chad), Bill Vlietstra (Tricia), Kim DeBlock (Kevin), Aron Hoekstra (Sarah), Ryan Hoekstra (Karen) and Kara Taylor (Brandon); her great grandchildren, Niko Pellegrini, Hayley Schmidt, Mason Schmidt, Abby DeBlock, Nick DeBlock, Kendall DeBlock, Billy Vlietstra, Blake Hoekstra, Adam Hoekstra, Claire Hoekstra, Lucas Hoekstra, Gage Hoekstra, Alexcia DeYoung, Michael DeYoung and Adelynn Taylor; her great great grandchildren, Oliver Pellegrini and Raelyn Brucito; and her sisters, Lois Hoekstra (Ralph) and Arlene Leistra (late Wally).
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Bethel Christian Reformed Church (3500 Glenwood Lansing Rd, Lansing, IL 60438). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 at 11:30 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 at the Oak Ridge Cemetery (1966 Thornton Lansing Rd, Lansing, IL 60438).
