He was predeceased by: his parents, Arnold Brands and Frances Brands; his wife Vera Brands; his daughter Barbara Brands Mahlum; his sisters, Janette Brands Kregel and Mary Brands Brez; and his siblings-in-law, Bob and Donna Schmitt.
He is survived by: his children, Lynn Heusing (Harry) and Jane Little (William); his son-in-law Robert Mahlum; his sister Joanne Teske (Herbert); his sisters-in-law, Donna Williamson and Carolyn Bunte; and his grandchildren, Michael Heusing (Lynn), Patrick Heusing (Sara), Kourtney Zelhart (Kyle), Karen Facko (Chris) and Lance Little (Grace). He is also survived by 10 great grandchildren.
