He was predeceased by: his parents, Thornton Smith and Susie Smith (Cornett); his significant other Doshia Mae; his wife Judy Smith; his daughter Evelyn Pearl (Steve); and his siblings, Bill Smith, Augusta Moseley, Ezma Young, Leona McCormick and Gladys Gayheart.
He is survived by: his children, Wilma Fugate (Arlie) and Carl Smith (Jenny); and his sister Elva Lykins (Dean). He is also survived by six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
