He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Konstandinos Athanasopoulos and Argyrola Athanasopoulos; his wife Kyriaki Goumas; his sons, Gus Athanasopoulos (Melissa) and Jimmy Athanasopoulos (Tonya Smith); his sisters, Sophia Nikolidakis and Mari Athanasopoulos; and his granddaughter Francesca Athanasopoulos. He was also cherished by three grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
