He was predeceased by: his parents, Samual Ralph and Osea Horn Sparks; his wife Preceding; his sons, Rickie Delane and Mark Douglas; and his siblings, Charlie, Myron (Bud), Larry Sparks, June Tipsword, Lena Rose Musser and Carol Dean Beck.
He is survived by: his sons, Samuel Lewis (Mary Jane) of Escondido, CA and Eric Stephen (Kathy) of Foley, AL; his siblings-in-law, Evelyn Sparks of Washington and Norman Tutwiler (Mitzi); his grandchildren, Leslie Kay Sparks, Rickie Dale Sparks (Katie), Scott Stephen Sparks (Sandy), Todd Eric Sparks (Kerri) and Nathaniel Sparks; and his stepgrandchildren, Jennifer Hamilton Morris and Wesley Howard. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
