She was predeceased by: her parents, Jesse Childress and LaVada Childress (Wright); her children, Michael L. Beck and Bonnie Doty (Robert); her children-in-law, Carl Strickland and Wanda Beck; and her siblings, Sletta Diveley (Logan), Mary Watson (Ralph), Lenora Smith-Parkison (Otis), Ralph Childress, Don Childress, Gene Childress, Nelson Childress (Alvena) and Wayne Childress (Winona).
She is survived by: her children, Shelby Strickland of Decatur, IL, Richard Beck (Janet) of Bella Vista, AR, Ronald Beck of Effingham, IL, Dennis Beck of Beecher City, IL, Leila Wills (Mike) of Beecher City, IL and Roger Beck (Rachel) of Effingham, IL; her daughter-in-law Jan Werner (Wayne) of Effingham, IL; and her sister Dorthea Rhodes (Darold) of Vandalia, IL. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren.
