She was predeceased by: her parents, Bernard "Popeye" and Mildred "MeMe" Gruenewald; her children, Walter Kelley Stewart (Dorothy), Roger Stewart and Mary Katherine Stewart; her husband Jack Stewart Sr.; and her great grandchild Dakota Ring.

She is survived by: her children, Jack Jr. Stewart (Tina), Ralph Stewart (Karen), Anita Russell (Stan Sr.) and William Stewart (Lisa); and her grandchildren, Linda Barker, Mike Stewart, Kurt Bowen, Shana Hieman, Joey Stewart, Daniel "Danny" Stewart, Kevin Stewart, Stephanie Roley, Vanessa Rehkemper, Nicholas Roley, Jacqueline Roley, Gary Buehler and Casey Stewart.

Memorials may be made in Iris' name to the Effingham County Humane Society.
