He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Devore and Margaret Devore (Syfert); his wife Lynda Hopper; and his granddaughter Heather Poe. He is survived by: his children, Tim Devore of Chicago, Stephani Poe of Arthur and Jeff Devore of Louisville, KY.; his grandchildren, Casey Poe of Cullom and Teddy Poe of Sullivan; his great grandchild Braydon Poe of Windsor; and his brothers, Robert Devore of Beecher City and Raymond Devore of Beecher City.
In lieu of flowers memorials in George's honor may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
