He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Tipsword and Winnie Tipsword (Patterson); his wife Lolita June Sparks; and his brothers, Clinton and Wallace.
He is survived by: his children, Tawn Tipsword, Master Chief (Tammy) of Deale, MD, Tana Tipsword Compton (Jonathan) of Orlando, FL and Tena Tipsword Weyer of Bristol, TN; his grandchildren, Lacey Rudy (Nick), Dayna Chandler (Jeremy) and Casey Compton (Emily); his great grandchildren, Noah Larson, Elias Chandler, Lillian Rudy, Gabriel Rudy and Oliver Compton; his great great grandchild Lucy June Larson; his nephew Kenny Tipsword (Connie); his great-nephew Edwin Tipsword (Kayla); and his adoptive sons, Johnny Sloan and Wyatt Bower.
