He was predeceased by: his parents, Ferdie Burks and Annabell Burks (Whiger); his brothers, Gene Burks and Bobby Burks; and his grandson Zachery J. Burks.
He is survived by: his wife Elinor Burks of St. Elmo; his children, Chuck Burks (Cheryl), Robin Hedge (Paul) and Donnie Burks (Lamonica); his grandchildren, Jacob Shane Burks (Carrie), Aaron Stupec (Trina), Jodi Smith (Jacob) and Elizabeth Taylor (Timothy); his great grandchildren, Zachery, Carson Burks, Zaryah, Zaven Smith, Dylan, Zia, Issac Taylor, Skylar and Zayden Stupec; and his stepgreat-granddaughter Taylor Smith.
