It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Andrew L. Rakers of Beckemeyer, Illinois, born in Breese, Illinois, who passed away on February 15, 2024, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Rakers and Mary Rakers; his mother-in-law Mary Ann Becker; his siblings, Cecilia Markus and Jerome Rakers (Mildred); his wife Mary Ann Rakers; his son Mark Rakers; his granddaughter Alyssa Rakers; and his in-laws, Marie Grapperhaus, Marcella, Bill Seiffert, Irene Rakers, Paul, Johanna Rakers, Edmund Rakers, Alvera, Maurice Mannhard, Rita and Ferd Deiters.

He is survived by: his children, Linda Haar (Mike), Sandy Jondro (Dave), Nancy Turner (Mark), Dennis Rakers (Shelley), Tim Rakers, Rodney Rakers (Carie) and David Rakers (Cheryl); his daughter-in-law Denise Rakers Hubbard (Rodney); and his great grandchild Landen. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

Expressions of sympathy in memory of Mr. Rakers are suggested to the Beckemeyer Fire Department, the Alzheimer's Association, or to Pancreatic Cancer research. Donations will be received through Zieren Funeral Home, 1111 Clinton Street, Carlyle, IL 62231.
