It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Michael Smith of Beardstown, Illinois, born in Peoria, Illinois, who passed away on June 20, 2021, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Smith and Beulah Morrell Smith; his son Michael Smith Jr. (Taylor) of Meredosia; and his siblings, Burdette Smith, Ronnie Smith and Rosalee Blackwell.
He is survived by: his children, Kristy Smith of Savannah, TN, Michelle Smith of Taylorville, Melissa Marsh of Springfield, Joseph DeWitt (Shannon) of Beardstown, Matthew DeWitt (Erica) of Chambersburg and Daniel Flath (Shelbie) of Meredosia; and his sister Rebecca Davis of Meredosia. He is also survived by twenty-two grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren.
