With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John W. Roope of Beardstown, Illinois, born in Christiansburg, Virginia, who passed away on February 7, 2022 at the age of 66. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Jim Roope and Shelby Shrewsbury Roope. He is survived by: his wife Sherry Pherigo; his children, Evan Roope (Emily Marie Pierce) of Texas, Andy Welte, Stephanie Poulter (Anthony) and Emily Creech (John); his grandchildren, Kassidy, Isaiah, Grace, Kaleb, Terrance and Jacob; his great grandchild Copeland; and his siblings, Kimberly Brumfield (Steve) of Virginia, Jennie Stewart of Tennessee, Rebecca, Kelly, Melissa Kirby and Bill Kirby (Betty) of Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, memorials have been suggested to Colwell Memorial Home.
