He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Milton Shelby Sr. and Martha Joann Mock Shelby; and his brother Jim Shelby. He is survived by: his sons, Paul Skaggs, Fred Frye (Sarah) and Kenneth Shelby (Jamie); his grandchildren, Rebecca Hicks, Jacob Shelby, Lucas Shelby, Tyler Scott, Tabitha Hayes, Kayla Turner, Christopher Frye and Freddy R. W. Frye; his siblings, Elva Danner, Kathy Miller, Wilma Stamback (Tom), Denise Simpson (Leon), Everett (Julie) and Alfred Milton Shelby Jr.; and his close friend Larry Peterson.
